In this U. T. of Daman & Diu there are only two Sub Jails located in each District of Daman & Diu with capacity of 60 inmates in each Sub Jail.
The Mamlatdar cum BDO, Diu is the Ex-Officio of the Superintendent of Sub Jail, Diu
The Sub Jail of Diu is situated in the Diu fort which is declared as protected monuments by A.S.I.
Since during the Portuguese regime the Government wore one hence in the year 1946-61 this structure was Central Jail, was shifted to Goa, Daman & Diu Jail has been converted as Sub Jail, Diu. Then nit continues as Sub Jail, Diu. |
