ABOUT DISTRICT
Diu is island situated slightly off the coast of Kathiawad near the Port of Veraval in Gujarat with a coastal length of 21 kms. and is at a distance of about 768 kms. from Daman, the Capital of the newly formed Union Territory of Dadra & Nagar Haveli and Daman & Diu. Diu is bounded by Gir-Somnath and Amreli District of Gujarat in the North and by the Arabian Sea from three sides. It is connected to the mainland via two bridges. Its length from the extremes north and south, measures 4.6 kms and width from east to west measures 13.8 kms. The altitude is 6 meters above sea level. The topography is generally plain. The hillocks attain maximum height of 30 metres.
- Order (Collector Office, Diu) : Order u/s 163 of the Bhartiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, 2023 for all Banks stationed in Diu District should post armed guards round the clock in all the Banks as well as ATM’s or put in place fool-proof security mechanism. This order shall come into force with immediate effect from 01/03/2025 to 29/04/2025 and shall be effective for a period of 60 days (both days inclusive) unless withdrawn earlier.
- Order (Collector Office, Diu) : Order that all landlords/owners/managers of the establishment of various types of rented accommodations and working places including Chawls, Lodges, Residential Colonies, Hotels/Guest Houses, Shops, Dhabas, Industries etc. shall obtain documents of Identity Proof (like Aadhar Card, Election Card, Pan Card, Driving License, any other reasonable proof of identity etc.) of the said migrants, tenants/ visitors/ guests/ employees etc. and shall verify the same from in-charge of the Police Station/ Outpost concerned through DDDP Suraksha App of Diu Police within 15 days of this order. This order shall come into force with immediate effect from 01/03/2025 to 29/04/2025 and shall be effective for a period of 60 days (both days inclusive) unless withdrawn earlier.
