The Department of Food & Civil Supplies is responsible for managing the functioning of PDS/TPDS, enforcement of various Acts/Rules, Orders of the Govt. of India and State Govt.
Department are responsible for effective implementation of the Nation Food Security Act (NFSA Act 2013), which inter-alia includes identification of eligible households, issuing ration cards to them, distribution of foodgrain entitlements to eligible households through fair price shops (FPS), issuance of licenses to Fair Price Shop dealers and their monitoring, setting up effective grievance redressal mechanism and necessary strengthening of Targeted Public Distribution System (TPDS).
The U. T. Administration of Dadra and Nagar Haveli and Daman and Diu has implemented under National Food Security Act, 2013 with effect from 1st November, 2015. All details of each Ration card holders have been digitized. The U. T. Dadra and Nagar Haveli and Daman and Diu has completed 100% seeding of Ration Cards with Aadhaar and also installation of e-PoS machines in all Fair Price Shops of Daman and Diu Districts and distribution of ration is done through PoS biometric devices by Aadhaar authentication.
There are 13 Nos. of Fair Price Shops being 6 in Urban area and 7 in Rural areas. Total number of ration cards and beneficiaries are available on web portal (Click here to see Total Number of Ration Cards and Beneficiaries)
The status of Aadhar seeding of head of family as well as members is 100%
At present the monthly allocation of food grains i.e. Rice and Wheat are being distributed to the Ration Card holders under National Food Security Act, 2013 as under:-
