About Us
This Institute was established on 12/09/1981 under the control of Goa, Daman & Diu Administration under the Craftsmen Training Scheme (CTS) in accordance with the guidelines issued by the then Directorate General of Employment & Training (DGE&T), Ministry of Labour & Employment and currently under the Directorate General of Training (DGT), National Council for Vocational Education & Training (NCVET), Ministry of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship (MSDE), Govt. of India with Eight Engineering Trades such as Fitter, Electrician, Wireman, Refrigeration & Air Conditioning Technician, Electronics Mechanic, Welder, Mechanic Diesel and Marine Engine Fitter and Two Non-engineering Trades such as Sewing Technology and Computer Operator & Programming Assistant. The main function of this Institute is to train the trainees in the all above mentioned trades.
Aims and Objectives
The main objective of this Institute is to train the candidates into skilled workers in different trades for the domestic industry, to raise quantitatively and qualitatively the industrial production by systematic training, to reduce unemployment among the educated youth by providing them employable skills and to cultivate and nurture a technical and industrial attitude in the minds of younger generation. The aspirants will appear for the All India Trade Test (AITT) once the training is complete and then the National Trade Certificate (NTC) is issued to the qualified applicants.

Schemes

The administration of the Govt. I.T.I., Diu is carried out under the U.T. Run Scheme which is Craftsmen Training Scheme (CTS).

A stipend of Rs. 100/- per month is paid to the General Category Trainees.

A stipend of Rs. 150/- per month is paid to the Trainees belonging to SC / ST Category.

The Stipend is paid directly into the bank account of the trainee beneficiary through the Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) Scheme.
